Sunil Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta is the founder and guiding force behind Retina Specialty Institute. He devotes his heart, mind and intuition to the science and art of retina. Dr. Gupta is one of the most respected retina surgeons in the country. He believes the only place to be is on the front line of medicine, researching new class drugs for macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, designing better surgical equipment and exploring innovative procedures such as gene therapy, stem cells and retinal cell transplants. As the Chairman and Administrator of Retina Specialty Institute since inception, the practice currently has 21 locations, 9 physicians and is continuously growing. Dr. Gupta is Board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a Chairman at Andrews Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center, Director and Chief Medical Officer of Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems, serves on the Retinal Advisory Committee of Alcon and the Retinal Advisory Board of Genentec and Allergan.
